What is a pinchpot?

A pinch pot is a simple, ancient method of creating pottery by shaping the clay using only the the hands, ‘pinching’ it using thumb and forefingers. A pinch pot can be made any size, though most commonly it used for smaller vessels up to the size of a cereal bowl.

Katherine starts with a ball of clay about the size of her palm, inserts her thumb into the middle of the ball and pinches in a circular motion, drawing the clay up and out to make the desired shape.

She then applies texture by applying her homemade stamps and glazing magic.
